As a photographer, one would understand why I would hope to have as many photos taken of our new little guy as humanly possible.

We were blessed to have the amazing Jenn Bartell photograph our Fresh48 session. She actually came and photographed our little man just a mere 9 hours after he entered our world.

I am beyond thankful we have these images to look back on, because I tell you what, this tiny little human changed faster than I could blink. Even just two weeks later, I remember looking back at these images and couldn’t believe how much he had already changed. And now, here we are 10 months later, and I honestly have a hard time remembering him ever being this small! It all just goes by far too fast.

How we came up with his name…

People have asked how we came up with the name Lukas John. If anyone knows us, they know we definitely struggled with coming up with a name that we both liked. Jordan really wanted the middle name “John” as that is his Grandfathers name, his brother’s middle name, and his nephew’s name. We had narrowed it down to a list of a few first names that we both liked but knew we were going to wait to meet him before we decided anything.

I remember looking at him all day on Friday and still feeling like, “Whaaaat are we going to name this kid?!” We had finally met him but still nothing was magically coming to me. Later that day Jordan mentioned he had been thinking about the name “Lukas” (one of the names on our list) the day before. I asked him what made him think of it, and he said he just was. We said we would sit on it for a day to see how it fit, but it was quickly growing on me. The next day, I was playing around with spellings on the letter board I had bought. I first spelt out his name with a “K” because I liked how mine and my brother’s names both had “K”s. Jordan didn’t really like it at first so I tried “Lucas John” with a “C”. Seeing it spelt out though, it just looked boring, especially with the last name “White”! So, I went back to a “K”. After sitting on it for a little while longer, Jordan finally decided that he liked it because the Kardashians all had “K’s” in their name! 🙄😂 If only I were joking. Whatever works though!

After 10 months of having this little man in our lives, I don’t think his name could be any more perfect. His smile and personality lights up every room and he brings so much joy to so many lives. The goodness and grace of God is all over him and we definitely feel overwhelmingly blessed to have him in our lives.
